HAITI (January 19, 2010)—“We have just arrived here in Haiti. The devastation caused by last week’s earthquake is seen and felt everywhere. The people of Haiti need water, food, medicine and doctors. The international community must mobilize their resources and come to the aid of Haiti.
The United Nations estimates 45,000-50,000 people have died and 300,000 are homeless. Three million people are in need of emergency aid.
This is a huge undertaking and a long-term battle and the world must be a focus on rescue, relief and reconstruction for Haiti.”
