New York (January 12, 2010)--Just as the Haitian people were getting back on their feet after recovering from four hurricanes two years ago, Haiti has been hit by the largest earthquake recorded in the region. The damage to its people, environment and nation is devastating.
Rev. Jackson said, “Our hearts and prayers go out to the Haitian people who have endured so much pain and agony. We call on the United States and the international community to come to aid of Haiti with a massive humanitarian relief effort. We can afford to do no less.”
We appeal for unity amidst this suffering and call on people of all faiths and walks of life to come together around a common cause: to save Haiti and the Haitian from further devastation.
Rainbow PUSH will contribute to this vital humanitarian mission to ease the pain and suffering of the Haitian people. We appeal to corporations, NGO’s and nations to provide maximum assistance and support to Haiti.
