Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr., founder and president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, will be attending the ExxonMobil annual meeting of shareholders on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Dallas, Texas.
"ExxonMobil is one of the foremost oil companies in the world and has a tremendous impact on our nation," he stated. "The cost of oil and gas has a major impact on our communities and directly affects the housing market and the U.S. car manufacturing industry."
The Rainbow PUSH Coalition has worked with ExxonMobil over the past several years to insure the fullest inclusion of women and minorities in their operations.
"We are looking to further our dialogue and the execution of inclusion and diversity practices in programs related to distributorships, gas station ownership, and supplier diversity, as well as in Exxon's boardroom and in executive leadership ranks," Rev. Jackson said.
The meeting will be held at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora Street, Dallas, Texas 75201 and will begin at 9:00 a.m. Central Time.
